Technomelt GA 7613 is used as side glue in Bookbinding operations. Side gluing is the application of a thin bead of hot melt adhesive to bind the cover inside to the first and last pages, or end sheets of a book. Although side gluing is a much smaller volume application than spine or backbone gluing, it is important for two main reasons it forms a hinge on the cover that takes pressure off the spine when the book is flexed or opened, and it makes a finished publication more aesthetically pleasing.

Technomelt GA 7613 side glue is a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) hot melt. This adhesive, because it is a pressure sensitive, and stays tacky in ambient temperatures, offers very long open-time and great adhesion. Technomelt GA 7613 technology also helps minimize angel hair that can lead to downtime and defects.

Technomelt GA 7613-Is amber to clear in color, and that gives it a very nice appearance on the book. It is 100% solids. The suggested temperatures for the Technomelt GA 7613 is 300-350°F Applicator 295-345°F Hose 300-350°F Pre-melter.

We Can Break Pallets

Some of the applications for Technomelt GA 7613 are hot melt lining, tight backing, tipping, and hinge glue. The product meets composition requirements of Indirect Food Additives Regulation 21CFR175.105 "Adhesives".

The viscosity of Technomelt GA 7613 at different temperatures is: 950 cps @ 360°F 1,080 cps @ 350°F 1,790 cps @ 325°F 3,050 cps @ 300°F 5,750 cps @ 275°F 12,200 cps @ 250°F.

To provide operation margin and enhance periodic maintenance requirements it is recommended to avoid exceeding 350°F for extended time periods. To maximize hose life set hose temp 5°F below Pre-melter setting.
